end of the year - rebirth
2025 marked the year of my rebirth: after sobering up and deciding to go back to music, I faced an extreme workload, with a huge amount of gigs, from smaller to significantly bigger festivals and stages (like Downtown Disney and the International Jazz Festival at the Dignity Health Sports Park).
The year before I sold every single piece of gear I had and took a break from music (because of mental health issues due to alcoholic abuse), to just focus on a restaurant job, but after sobering up I slowly got back to it: a few smaller shows, then more work, which also means more money, so I ended up in a good financial place that allowed me to further invest in my music equipment.
It wasn’t just gigs though: I embarked on the enterprise of creating and releasing my most cinematic single and music video, “California Forever”, which took a lot of time, energy and money. Not gonna lie, it was exhausting, but I was happy to be able to put it out there, and it did receive good critics from the press too.
I worked a lot with Reverend Doctor, which is a spectacular artist (and friend) whose work ethics are something to look up to: we did a lot of shows together and recorded some live videos of his covers too, like “When Doves Cry” and “ Come Together”.
For the first time in my career, I recorded a jazz album for the super talented saxophone virtuoso Dominique Jessie, which has seen me use both fretted and fretless bass, leaving me with a lot of room for expression.
I also had the chance to work with other established projects too, Morrison Macchiavelli & The Underground Associates, Bazz Davis & The HouseCall, Liv DeToma, Mr Man, Trevor Kelly, Soultyde, Serenaya and others.
Every single show, or rehearsal, or studying session (because yes, being a professional involves studying music a lot), has been an opportunity for me to also hone my skill, and become a better bass player. So, yes, although tiring, 2025 has been the most amazing year for my music career so far.
I am beyond grateful to be part of such incredible musicians’s journey, and I’m looking forward to a possibly even busier 2026!
Let’s make it happen!
